The Young Changemakers Summit 2016 was organised with a series of workshops conducted by children, for children, and ended with the Tuanku Bainun Young Changemakers Awards ceremony as the highlight of the summit. It was attended by 300 young change makers, comprising children from 7 schools, young change makers alumi and finalists, toegther with their enablers, parents, guardians, families, teachers and private corporations.
For 2016, the search and selection of the nominees and recipients of the awards were helmed by Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun, together with the English division of co-curricular and Arts Department of the Ministry of Education, Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (WOMEN:girls), UNICEF and DiGi Telecommunications Berhad. Over 150 nominations nationwide and 10 finalists were selected based on their courage, resilience and inspiring contributions to make the world a better place.
