Inviting all children age 9 to 12 years old who loves telling stories with dramatic gestures and expressions; here is a competition for you!
WHAT IS THE CONTEST ABOUT?
In the spirit of Christmas, we are hosting a storytelling contest for children age 9 to 12 years old. The contest allows children to practise and sharpen their storytelling abilities while having the opportunity to win interesting prizes. For this contest, we are looking for children who has the bravery and creativity to deliver the famous tale of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens. Although the original story may be quite lengthy, interested participants can choose one out of the three simplified excerpts by downloading a pdf file provided below:
PARTICIPATION PROCEDURE
- Download the pdf file above and choose one out of the three excerpts that you would like to perform.
- Record a maximum 6 minutes video of your storytelling performance.
- Fill in your details and upload your video in our google form: https://forms.gle/NzipmhjPPFyksqke6
- Wait for our winner announcement!
CONTEST DETAILS
- All participants will get an e-certificate upon request after the contest ends.
- Deadline of submission [Extended]: 8th January 2021
- Winner announcement [Extended]: 11th January 2021
- Each participants may only submit one entry. If there are two submission, only the latest one will be contested.
- Video length not longer than 6 mins and video file not bigger than 1 GB.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Participants will be judged by the following criteria:
- Clarity
- Tonality
- Performance creativity
- Ability to capture audience’s attention
EXTRA POINTS
You can earn extra points from the judges by:
- Memorising the excerpt
- Using costumes and props
