We will be presenting “The Courtyard Hotel”. Featuring over 110 students from our Artspire programme, a 1-year long sponsored programme for children and teenagers.
The Courtyard Hotel is the final production for our Artspire performing arts students and is an in-house production written and directed by Arsyad Azrai, our Head of Creative Programmes.
Once a grand landmark, The Courtyard Hotel now creaks under leaky pipes and fading memories. Teck Boon struggles to keep his family’s legacy alive as colourful guests—musicians, teachers, salesmen, and dreamers—fill its worn rooms with noise and unexpected warmth. When a flashy franchise offers to buy the building, Boon must choose between profit and the heartbeat of a place that has quietly become a home for many.
The Courtyard Hotel is a tale of tender comedy about family, heritage, and the stubborn joy of community in a changing Kuala Lumpur.
The production will be presented in English and Bahasa Melayu will feature students from Theatre, Gamelan, Angklung, 24 Festive Drums, Malay Dance, Chinese Dance, Indian Dance, Tari Silat, and Choir. This will be the final performance of our 2025 cohort and will be a celebration of their journey.
A reminder that entry is for 6 years old and above only.
