This year we are presenting “Matahari”. Featuring over 100 students from our Artspire programme, a 1-year long sponsored programme for children and teenagers.
Matahari is the final production for our Artspire performing arts students and is an in-house production written and directed by Arsyad Azrai, our Head of Creative Programmes and Maisyarah Mazlan the educator of Artspire Theatre programme.
Matahari tells the story of Hari, a teenage girl yearning to reconnect with her father. Equipped with a pair of binoculars, she searches to reclaim what was once hers.
Matahati is a tale of discovering happiness even in the darkest moments, a reminder that everyone deserves a chance at joy.
The production will be presented in English and will feature students from Theatre, Gamelan, Angklung, 24 Festive Drums, Malay Dance, Chinese Dance, Indian Dance, Tari Silat, and Choir. This will be the final performance of our 2024/25 cohort and will be a celebration of their journey.
Kindly note that doors will open 10 minutes before show time. No entries will be allowed after the show starts. This is to avoid interruption on the ongoing performance. A reminder that entry is for 6 years old and above only.
Tickets are based on a minimum donation of RM20. 100% of your donation will go towards supporting PKK Tuanku Bainun’s Arts Programme. If you are requesting a tax exempt receipt, you may collect it on the day of the show if it is ready.
