The Kreatif Kommunity

At Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun, we believe that art is also a means by which to serve the community and the development of a strong network of creative minds can only further the progress of the arts in Malaysia. In light of this conviction, we have organized a series of programs that involve both adults and children alike.

Established in 2015, the Young Changemaker Awards were created to recognize the contributions of the young to their communities.

The Young Changemaker 2015 gathers 150 future changemakers and more than 50 enablers celebrates three Young Changemakers who are awarded The Tuanku Bainun Young Changemaker Award by the Patron of the Awards herself, Her Royal Majesty Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Bainun Binti Mohamad Ali.

The Tuanku Bainun Young Changemakers Award 2015 winners are:

  • Firdaus Ahmad Farouk
  • Leah Choy Sze Qin
  • Loh Shi Ya

Thus the Young Changemaker 2015 is initiated as a movement to increase awareness and to stimulate interest in the strategic value of exemplary young people doing good.

Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun together with the English division of Co-curricular and Arts Department of the Ministry of Education, Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (WOMEN:girls), UNICEF and DiGi Telecommunications Berhad, kicked off the search for these real children with real stories in September with schools nationwide. From the two months search, the organising committee received about 70 submissions of inspiring and endearing stories and took two rounds to shortlist 10 finalists.

The Young Changemaker Awards for 2016 will be carried out in November 2016.

Children are the force to be reckoned with as they hold the power to change the world they want to live in. Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun started the Children Can Change The World Series in order to give these children a platform to not only share their gracious heart with the world but also adapt skills that will  allow them to change their environment to make it a better place to live in.

At Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun, we believe that the development and nurturing of a child takes place at each and every moment. As their life-givers, carers and the people that spend the most time with them, parents bear the brunt of the burden of ensuring that their children have a safe environment in which to learn and grow. We believe that these noble enablers also need a safe space to gather, build support networks and grow.

Free Coffee For Parents is an initiative to create exactly that space. Since February 2016, Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun has worked with facilitators to provide workshops on a diverse range of topics. Parents get to kick back and relax while participating in enriching experiences.

The first Free Coffee for Parents session was introduced to the public and media on Friday, 26th February 2016. MPH presented the first speaker, Michelle Lim Chua sharing her experiences on mindful parenting. COSANS Coffee has come on board to provide the coffee for the series. Our guest of honour, DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, together with our Chairman, YTM Raja Dato’ Seri Azureen Binti Sultan Azlan Shah and board of directors, YTM Dato’ Seri Noraini Jane Marree Ariffin and Dato’ Wan Mohamed Yaacob Bin Dato’ Wan Salaidin very kindly graced the occasion.

Pusat Kreatif Kanak-kanak Tuanku Bainun welcomes contributions from all individuals who would like to contribute their time, items, services or resources. Our volunteers would have the opportunity to serve young people from all walks of life and get to put their own talents to use in the service of others. Some ways in which volunteers can contribute would be to assist in the coordination of our programmes, administrative tasks and assisting our staff with the coordination of events.
