1What is Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun (PKK Tuanku Bainun)?
It is a centre where children and youth can come together to explore and develop their creativity, to enhance their cognitive skills and develop their potentials and inherent talents. The centre aims to provide opportunities for a more balanced, meaningful and holistic education for young people, which will complement the formal school curriculum.
2When was PKK Tuanku Bainun established?
It was incorporated in 1995 and commenced operation mid 2013 after the completion of the centre.

4What are the objectives of PKK Tuanku Bainun?
To meet the development needs of the children complimenting the process of formal education. Our activities are aimed at promoting creativity, confidence, appreciation of cultural heritage and the strengthening of moral and spiritual values among chidren. Looking at current youth issues related to diversified environment, we may find justifiable resolutions in our programmes that help foster the value of traditions which our multi-racial society is based upon.
5Is PKK Tuanku Bainun a commercial establishment or a non-profit organization?
We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization.
6How does PKK Tuanku Bainun sustain itself?
PKK Tuanku Bainun has facilities and office spaces for lease. The proceeds are equally distributed towards supporting the operations, maintenance of PKK Tuanku Bainun, and towards developing children’s programmes. We also do fundraising events to sustain ourselves.
7Why is there a revenue-generating arm if PKK Tuanku Bainun is a non-profit organization?
The funds received from the rentals of our facilities and office spaces are channeled towards the maintenance and operations of the centre as well as developing programmes for children.
8What facilities does PKK Tuanku Bainun have?
We have a 250-seat black box theatre, an amphitheatre, function room, and a centre dome.
9Are the facilities of PKK Tuanku Bainun free of charge to use by the public and community?
No. The facilities mentioned above are available for rent.
10What programmes are provided by PKK Tuanku Bainun?
We have a programme called Alam Kreatif that caters for children and youths from the age of 7 to 18.
11Does Alam Kreatif charge fees for a child to participate in the creative programmes?
Alam Kreatif requests that parents donate a fixed rate as advertised on the website. The amount differs depending on the chosen programme. The contributions are channelled towards developing the programme including the allowance for educators, equipment and materials.
Participants from low-income backgrounds may apply for subsidy or exemption from donation:
- 50% subsidy if parents’ joint income is below RM 3, 500;
- Free-of-charge if parents’ joint income is below RM 2, 000.
12Where does Alam Kreatif hold its programmes?
Alam Kreatif has studios at the centre where the classes and programmes are conducted.
13What programmes does Alam Kreatif offer?
We will be offering programmes in the following creativity areas:
- Performing arts
- Visual arts
- Literary arts
- Living skills
14Who are the children and youth that Alam Kreatif caters for?
Alam Kreatif welcomes children aged between 7-18 years old from all walks of life (regardless of income, gender, religion, language or ability). Children with talent and interest will be matched with an appropriate creative medium.
Underprivileged, special needs, and children deprived of proper access to basic education will be given the attention and necessary assistance required.
